Philosophy
Megan Sessions approaches therapy as a collaborative, compassionate process grounded in safety, acceptance, and freedom from judgement. Her work is informed by existential and humanistic principles, narrative therapy, and her academic background in English Literature.
Megan understands that people make meaning through stories-- often shaped by experiences of survival, loss, or adaptation. While these narratives once served a purpose, they can begin to limit growth over time. Therapy offers a place to examine these patterns with care and to develop new ways of relating to oneself and the world.
Megan has supported individuals navigating profound trauma, grief and systemic adversity through her work at the Utah State Prison. This experience deepened her capacity to sit with suffering without rushing it, to listen without judgement and to remain grounded in the belief that growth and transformation remain possible--even in the most constraining circumstances.
Above all, Megan values a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust and collaboration. she views therapy as a shared journey-- one that supports self-awareness, resilience, and movement toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.
